What are your thoughts on long-distance relationships?

Do you think long distance relationships work? Do you think they are more stressful or less stressful? If you're with someone who's in the military, do you think they are worth waiting for? A lot of people seem skeptical when it comes to long distance relationships. What are your thoughts on long-distance relationships?
Long distance relationships can work if both people involved realize and accept the fact that it takes alot of hard work to keep it going. And if they're both willing to take that chance and keep the communication lines open. One cannot do the work for both and expect the relationship to make it.What are your thoughts on long-distance relationships?
it is really hard to be in a long distance relationship. There has to be a HUGE amount of TRUST. without it you have nothing yes that applies for someone you see everyday but in a long distance relationship u will go crazy wondering where they are who they are with especially if they do not answer your call or call you back since that is the only real connection you have to the person. a long distance relationship i think is harder than an at home relationship because you dont get to see the person often you dont get to hug or kiss him/her or go on a date you have to wait for however long until you see the person and then they leave and you start the process all over again. Long distance takes work, trust honesty and a serious commitment from both people.
I don't think it works because you never know, they could be going out with someone else out there and what not. However, I would wait for some1 in the military, cuz that's a HERO. Who doesn't want a HERO???
hmm i believe in it
..i had long distance relationship for 2 years!!!believe it.i was young and very much in love.. me in europe she in usa.it worked because we really loved each other no other woman worth for me or other man for her.we seperate when we finally lived in the same house ..but not when we where far away!
They don't work nor will they ever work. Unless you're married and passing time before you're back together again.
they never work,,,out of site out of mind
okay if its someone in the military then yes i think it could work..normally i would say no though if its just someone u knew long distance that u liked and was asking about a long distance relationship. It just depends on what u can deal with in a relationship.
I think they are very, very hard to make work. I was in one that lasted several years and found out that, unfortunately, when there are problems, there is nothing that gets close to the power that a hug can have in solving them. That is very hard to have being in a long distance relationship. Unfortunately, the phone will never get close to human contact in getting people together.
Yes, they are a million times more stressful than a regular relationship. My husband and I dated 2.5 years long distance, before I moved to where he lived (we saw each other once a month over that time) and I always swore if it didn't work out, I'd never do it again. It CAN work, but it takes a lot of love and fidelity to make it last.
the just don't work out, they just don't.
iraq sux!!!

(love knows no distace!)
The key about long distance relationships is that it requires a lot of commitment from both involved in it. Not seeing each other for long periods of time can be rough and one can almost give up on it after so long. They can work for a short period of time, but if it has to last upwards to a year or longer, it could be an unrealistic relationship...but I don't doubt that it could be done with enough commitment, but I just don't see it happening that long.
I dont believe in them and think the people who have them have some sort of need for it. As in they really dont want a serious commitment so they find people far away to have ';something'; with that they call a relationship.
Hi,

Well first of all you have to ask yourself, ';How old am I?'; Long distance relationships are extremely difficult, but not impossible. A successful long distance relationship starts with you. How mature are you? How comitted are you? And how well will you be able to control your own emotions?

I asked myself these questions so many times. And everytime I lied to myself. In the end, I was left broken hearted. I am 28 now and I still feel that I would not be able to last in a LDR. Why? I am just a needy guy. I need to hold my woman when I am lonley and I need to be able to make love to my woman when I really want to get close to her.

Likewise, women need alot of attention. Thats the truth. Will you man be able to give you so much attention from half way around the world? Because if that special person is more then 1 hrs drive away from where you live he might as well be on a different continent.

Anyways, I am not trying to discourage you. I want to encourage you to do what is right for you. I was always somebody that needed to get burned before I knew that fire is hot.

Hope this helps...

P.S.- I've been engaged to an air hostess before... I've had the worse of the worse LDR experience!

What does the Bible say about restoring relationships.?

Is it Gods wish or will that we restore all wayward relationships in our lives? Im trying to find info for a friend. ThanksWhat does the Bible say about restoring relationships.?
Nothing worth readingWhat does the Bible say about restoring relationships.?
All the trite Bible quotes didn't quite answer your question. Suggestion: think for yourself and put your Bible in a drawer.
There are quite a few here is the first one and I will look for more.

Galatians 6:1

1Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.

Matthew 5:22-24 (New International Version)

22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[a]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[b]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

23';Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift

Matthew 18:15-17 (New International Version)

A Brother Who Sins Against You

15';If your brother sins against you,[a] go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'[b] 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Sorry to be so long winded, but these are the best examples of what the Bible says about restoring relationships. It is not easy, but for your friends peace, I think it is worth the attempt. My parents divorced and the pain it caused was great. Now, while not married, they get along and share in the joys of being Grandparents. I only wish they could completely restore, but that is not likely. I also wish they came to the saving grace of God.
It depends. Some are worth fixing and others better to be left alone.
The scriptures tell us that we should live in peace with all men to the extend that it is possible.

You need to be the one to live in peace with your fellow man, and if they refuse to do the same, then so be it.

grace2u
When slapped ,turn the other cheek so if they wish to slap it they can. After that beat 'He--- out of them! Forgive thy brother 70x7 if need be
Blessed are the peace makers. You don't have to hang around the person any more, but forgive and be civil.
Absolutley. You should always forgive a person, like Jesus forgave us. Forgive debts, of any kind! We should always work out relationships, wheather it be marrige, friends or family. As long as you do it by the bible, and do not compromise on the word of God, you can not go wrong!
Gospel of St. Matthew 5:23: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
I am not sure that it is wise to restore ALL wayward relationships in our lives, but I know that we should forgive everyone who has trangressed against us. Case in point: A guy robs you at gun point and subsequently ends up in jail. I would forgive the guy, but I wouldn't search him out for verbal communication.

Also it takes two to restore a relationship. Sometimes you try and the other person is not interested. In that point I would just impress on the other person that I have forgiven him/her and will wait patiently until they feel able to speak. That is all you can do. Remember even Paul and Barnabas had a parting of the way.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Mat 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Mar 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Luk 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Luk 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

2Cr 2:7 So that contrariwise ye [ought] rather to forgive [him], and comfort [him], lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

2Cr 2:10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I [forgive] also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave [it], for your sakes [forgave I it] in the person of Christ;

1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It seems to me that the Bible is pretty big on restoring relationships.

  • Do you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?

what has changed?Do you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?
Many, many people do not take much of anything seriously today, especially marriage vows. Yes things have changed, and for the most part, not for the better I might add. Relationships today are easy come/easy go and few think of the heartache and consequence. We are living in a ';me first'; generation and the repercussions are going to be devastating. They already are, just ask the children!Do you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?
I believe certain things have changed.

In general women have become more independent and outspoken in their relationships.

The majority of women in the 40's would have seen their career in getting married, or would give up a career after marriage and look after husband %26amp; children and taking care of the household. (A career woman would have been an exception)

Today's women have their own income and in most modern relationships the household chores and care for children are shared.

It's true, the divorce rate is much higher than it was in those days. Even though this is sad, it means the majority of women is not putting up with verbal or physical abuse like some might have in ';olden days';.

On the other hand I believe that the actual value of love and companionship has stayed the same ( and will probably always stay the same - emotions %26amp; feelings do not change)

I even remember my grandmother smiling, when I told her about my first love and the insecurities I felt with it. She told me, she had felt just the same, when she fell in love for the first time.

So here you are - after centuries love will always be love

    Only the ';dressings'; will change
Try reading this for a good idea about relationships and how the are changing

    ';What my Mother never told me, and what my Father never knew';

What's the point of high school ';relationships';?

So, kids now are ';making out'; at ages 12 and 13? ';relationships'; around that age too? what's the point of it? why not wait a little bit and enjoy being a KID? go outside, go be a teenager and mess around with friends? i don't understand, any insights? What's the point of high school ';relationships';?
I think they prepare us for adult ones. I learned a lot from my teenage affairs. Namely, what I won't accept in a relationship and what type of guy I want. What's the point of high school ';relationships';?
we're now in the age where parents want to be considered ';cool'; and think of themselves as friends and equals to their children rather than parents and the boss. they frequently fail to set good examples and set firm boundaries for their kids. The media doesn't help with frequently pushing relationships and sexuality onto children at earlier ages. But, what can you do? America is morally doomed, so just enjoy the ride to the bottom.
i definitely agree. i mean, I'm only sixteen. but i have noticed that being in relationships at a young age like that and now are no fun. i just want to have fun being a kid and hanging out with friends! there's no need to start the whole commitment thing and become attached to one person at this age. we have so much time in the future to have relationships, we shouldn't worry about them now when we have so many other things to experience. i guess some people just are meant to be in relationships and start out young, and they may like being in relationships and having a bf or gf rather than hanging out with friends.
At that age, boys and girls have high sexual energy and we live in a society where dating at that age became a normal thing, so why should they not date? Most of these relationships are not serious and don't last long anyway.
    To practice.

Any good articles, book, or film on Relationships on college students and twenty somethings?

Hey, I guess you figured out what I was looking for by the long title, but I am doing a research paper and any help would be appreciate!!!!Any good articles, book, or film on Relationships on college students and twenty somethings?

Why communication skills are important in developing relationships with children in nursery/schools?

please can sum1 hlp me...am really confused :-(

fnk uWhy communication skills are important in developing relationships with children in nursery/schools?
Very young children often aren't able to express their thoughts and feelings in words, or express them poorly. Because of this, it's important that adults working with them can listen carefully and help children to learn how to express themselves and also provide what they need.

Children are 'social learners' and learn by copying other people, so any adults working with them should model good communication, both speaking and listening, so that children will learn from them.

Children need to know that they are being listened to and heard. This helps them to build up a rapport and trust with adults and promotes better relationships. The more you learn how to listen to children, the better you will be able to assess their abilities and interests and plan for their next steps in learning and development. You will also get to know them well and then you can support their emotional needs by being in tune with them.

The better and sooner children learn to communicate, the more easily they will form friendships and their confidence and self-esteem will increase.

Hope this helps! :-)Why communication skills are important in developing relationships with children in nursery/schools?
Communication skills are a must in all sectors. With children it can be tougher to get them on your side, you will need good verbal and non verbal skills to keep them interested in what you are doing. If you keep their attention then they are yours. Your voice, body language are very important with children, if they dislike you then it will take an age to get them back on your side.

Long term impact of abuse on adult relationships?

Do people who suffered childhood sexual abuse have problems with intimate personal relationships as adults? Are they too quick to become intimate, or do they shy away from intimacy alltogether? Do male abuse survivors react differently than female abuse survivors?Long term impact of abuse on adult relationships?
As someone who did suffer childhood sexual abuse, I have had both issues: too quick to become intimate and shy away from intimacy altogether (obviously at different times in my life). As much as I've told myself it doesn't still affect me and my life, it does. I certainly think that male abuse survivors do react differently in some respects, because of society's views that males are ';stronger'; than females. However, I believe it's based on the individual and what exactly they endured and how they've overcome their abuse. All of my abusers are now dead, which helps me tremendously, knowing they can't hurt anyone else (they all died from natural causes, but it still helps with closure).Long term impact of abuse on adult relationships?
    Most definitely.
The females are often sexually hyper-active with strangers and abusive partners, now if they like the partner they will shy away from sex.

Men do not have the same options as women so they often do not have much sex but fantasize about abuse or abusing others.
Yes they do...because their self esteem is usually so low, and they sometimes have even gotten the blame for an adults horrific behavior...some people I have known, get into the intimacy too quick as a device for approval.. some males I know, end up prostituting on the streets, and trust is a major issue...however, all things can heal with God and Jesus in their lives, once they believe, forgive, and move on....

  • How do you feel about long distance relationships?

    do you think they work?

why or not why?How do you feel about long distance relationships?
It really depends on the two people. It takes 2 people to make it work. Sometimes it can be very difficult because you are not seeing the person face to face %26amp; miss them. I have been in long distance relationship before and one lasted for 3 months. Then after that broke up. I think it just depends like i said on the 2 people. If the 2 people can make it work out with frequently visits, then it'll be all good. How do you feel about long distance relationships?
When I was closet and i had no attraction to girls I was scared to date guys irl so i used to have long distance relationships, I guess they kinda boost your confidence abit but they are nothing compared to a real loving relationship where you can atleast embrace your partner, Its hard and they hardly ever work, I would say never but I have a friend online thats been in a long distance relationship for nearly 2 years!

Im only giving an honest responce when I say I beleive they rarely work sorry if it isnt what you wanted to hear.

    Goodluck tho :)
For a good percentage of the time - they DON';T work.. Far too many people hind behind anonymity and they tell you what you WANT to hear.. Good looks, young, etc etc.. And even if pictures / photos are supplied, who's to say they belong to the person (s) you are chatting with..? It's been know that some do :bilk'; people into believing they are something they are NOT..

Good way around this is to do a web cam chat, and again, ask plenty of questions of them..

An NEVER commit yourself to travel any GREAT distance on a ';kiss and a promise'; situation..

Apart from that - COMMON SENSE... Use it..!! If something appears to be TOO good to be true - it ISN'T....!! Simple as that

    Rachelle In High Heels
I don't think I could do it, I need that special attention from the touch of the other person.

For those that can, I commend you.
I dnt think so becuase then you're never fully sure if that person is cheating on you nd crap. My friend went out wid a dude in another city twice nd he was a *****!
Mine worked for almost 12 months when my b/f had to work away from home every week. He moved back :)

I think it all depends on how much love and trust there is between the 2 of you.

    xxx
    they dont work
No. To big a chance you will end feeling jealousy about something and that feeling sucks
depends on how close you guys are

Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?

...there are over twice as many white male/ asian girls marriages than black male/ white women marriages?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interracial_marriage

And why does the media downplay this fact. Every ';diverse'; movie pretty much includes a black man with a white or white looking latina woman. Should Asian women/ white men relationships be acknowledged? Especially since they are the most common? Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?
ppl always tend to frown upon this....to me it doesnt matter what combination gets together love is loveWhy are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?
I think the media/film downplays that fact, because White men feel they can date whatever race they want, but White women can never other races, especially Black men, without being criticized. It's not to say that every White man feels that way or that all White people in general do, but that's just what I see. If a White guy is with an Asian, nobody really cares...if a White girl walks down the street with a Black guy, she's labeled a 'n-word lover' or 'whore'.

The media/film like to go on shock value, so if nobody is really bothered about the White male/Asian female match, they aren't going to receive much attention.
simple white men typically hate to see there so called women with a black man. We are supposed to be lower then them, beast, savages, uneducated, thugs. Dumb **** like that. Oh well, I can care less what they think. I love all women. White, black, Cablasian (example Tiger Woods) Caucasian, black, and asian. I feel that attitude about black and white realationships is mostly shared by older white men, still living in the past. People simply don't like to see change, it is getting better and more accepted. Hell I don't care, I will marry any color women as long as she is a good person.
Because this country's laws against racially mixed marriages, cruelly named ';miscegenation,'; which basically means incorrect mixing of genes, were primarily used against black and white couples. Everyone else just had to move to some other state.
I really wouldn't care if they acknowledged either. I want to see the media acknowledge more White Male/Black Female relationships than they do because that is becoming very common, so is Black Woman/Latino Male.
If you are using wikipedia as a reference you need to do more research.

Do guys and girls view love and relationships differently?

I think they are pretty much the same but girls do obsess over the little things way too much. I guess guys sometimes do too.Do guys and girls view love and relationships differently?
Depends on the person. If you're with a guy you know you're gonna marry and vice versa, the feelings are mutual so your views don't really differ. You both know you want to be with each other.Do guys and girls view love and relationships differently?
    i think they do!

to me girls take it more serious then guys do.
i thot so til i met my current bf....he always cares and worries about little things that i dont even think about....sigh
Yea, I think girls obsess about the little things way to much and want the relationship to mean everything. Guys however think pretty much opposite. But there are some guys that view love and relationship about the same as a girl.
    sometimes yes, sometimes no
I think that you view love and relationships the same as your soulmate...wherever he is ... *sigh* :)
well, i've been told that i act like a girl and my gf acts like a guy.... which i think sucks balls.

    Relationships are too much work?

Why do relationships have to be so much work. Can't they just be peaceful cutting out the arguements. Focusing less about the negatives. Too many relationships are unhealthy.Relationships are too much work?
    They can be frustrating...

    1) If people carry emotional baggage, there can be clashing, almost like a kindling of logs, which creates a fire.

    2) Sometimes stressful situations take a toll on relationships.

    3) Sometimes our personalities aren't designed to handle that type of intimacy.

Everyone is different, but I think the key to it is getting help from a therapist to identify behaviors or stressors that are preventing you from having a healthy, enjoyable relationship that is not an emotional burdon.Relationships are too much work?
    I know, right?
A good relationship should not be ';too much work.'; If it is that hard, it probably isn't right.
Why should it be easy? The grass doesn't cut itself. Why should long-term companionship be effortless?

What do teens need to know about relationships?

I was just wondering what everyone thinks that teenagers need to know about relationships? I'll greatly appreciate any information. What do teens need to know about relationships?
THEY TAKE WORK...DONT GIVE UP....WATCH WHAT YOU SAY....BE RESPECTFUL....NO CHEATING....NO PEER-PRESSURING!!!!!!!!!!!!What do teens need to know about relationships?
I think you teenager's need to concentrate on school. education honey you never get to old to date
I got married very young and I can say that the biggest mistake is young people thinking they are in love. The thing to keep in mind is that what you want as a teenager is not always what you want as you mature. That said there are people who have had relationships in high school and are still together years later. I know some people who have done this but they have worked very hard. Also teens tend to be very passionate and it takes a lot more than that to keep a marriage together. Marriage and relationships are wonderful but you need to realize that sometimes it doesn't always feel all that ';passionate'; but you still work hard to keep things together.
LOVE is very strong, and you are going to think that you are in love 100x then once someone breaks up with you, you will think that you are not able to go on, but trust me the person that you just ended your relationship with is not the right person for you anyway.
i think that they need to know how to have a lasting relationship. im 19 years old but i will soon be 20. i have been in a relationship for 3 years. all i know about relationships and love is what my parents have shown me all of my life.
don't make babys, don't go for anything serious, serious relationships rarely work out after highschool.

Grab a beer and just have fun!
when u are teen u are cable of falling love with and u are knowing what todo and what not to do and we know what kind of relationships we want.
any and every thing if you dont tell them they will find out on there own
Relationships involve a deep understanding of the person on more then just a physical level. Doing this requires work and alot of trust in another person. Sex, while a personal choice, can complicate a relationship if one or both partners are not ready emotionally or intellectually. If the sex partner leaves, the other partner may feel hurt or ashamed, making the act seem worthless. Only you can assess where and when to start or end a relationship and this comes through knowing the other person. A good rule of thumb is ';friends first';. This allows you to know the other person without any pressure and is usually the best way to move torwards dating.

What is the most common problem in relationships nowadays?

It seems like one of the major problems is cheating and not being honest with each other. What is the most common problem in relationships nowadays?
They need to stop arguing and show more love for each. They need to consider each other more important than the other person and not be selfish. What is the most common problem in relationships nowadays?
what i encountered that destroyed relationships was the inability to talk to me as if he was talking to his best friend and we had started oput as friends for seven years but, in the end he started treating me like a stranger and him hanging out with other women and getting drunk with them, even getting hickies on his neck let me know he didnt respect himself nor me nor the love i had for him

he thought it was cool to hang out with other women , i wasnt his girlfriend but i loved him and he knew it , and i guess he didnt want to be my boyfriend so he could get away with doing all those unconcious acts. i guess some guys just dont want the responsibility of a realationship
Trust issues. Men don't like to talk much and women talk too much. We like to talk something to death. Not having common goals is the result of a lot of problems in relationships.

  • Do you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?

what has changed?Do you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?
EVERYTHING has changed since the 40's.

Back then . . . the men worked . . . the women stayed home

Today . . . BOTH work . . . and then argue about who is going to cook / clean.

Back then . . . men invited the women and ALWAYS paid . ..

Today .. . .that happens in the beginning, but at some point the woman also starts paying.

    Aren't you glad that there was an ';Woman's Movement?';

Dan in MiamiDo you think much has changed in relationships between men and women since the 1940's?
During the early 40's men went to war (world war II) and as a consequence women joined the workforce and they got an opportunity to prove that they could do all the jobs that only the guys were supposedly capable of doing. Many women also joined the war effort, but were in administrative posts only.

In the mid-40's when the war was over and the boys began returning the guys found out that women had changed. They had become a lot more independent and bossy too. They no longer stayed home and had good jobs, made their own money and were no longer dependent on the guys. Some guys were angry too, because they could not find jobs.

But some things did not change, guys are still suppose to pay for everything, hold the door open, take the trash out, what the guys earn belongs to both of them and what the woman earns belongs only to her. Basically, guys are treated like slaves. (LOL)
I believe a lot has changed!

Men respected women more in the 1940s.

It's a myth that women didn't work - who worked in the munitions factories during the war?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the only people who benefited from ';women's liberation'; were men!
Yes, because women have more financial stability they have choices %26amp; therefore don't have to ';obey'; men as in the past..... great isn't it?...
Well men respect woman now more than they did in the 1940s. In the 1940s woman were not thought of as highly as they are now.
    A lot!

    Animosity.

    Loneliness.

    Fake pleasure.
Ah, women have more power in decisions/the home.
yeah a hell of a lot has changed , thats almost a long forgotten era now. long ago golden past.
Well I would imagine a hell of a lot of them have died in the last 60 years... thats a pretty big change in my book.

What kind of differences do you see between the way men and women think about relationships?

Pretty broad question. I'm just thinking about the different things that seem to be important to men and women in relationships. What are the biggest differences in your opinion? What kind of differences do you see between the way men and women think about relationships?
easy, women think about relationships, and men don't. Simple as that. What kind of differences do you see between the way men and women think about relationships?
Women i see that they value r/ships so much

    They regard the r/ships

But men use just a normal perspective to view the r/ships

    Its like they dont care
Well for men it's pretty much straight to the point having sex. Ladies kind a like slow foreplay and romance. There ya go!!
women tend to think that guys really want to be their ';friend'; and their are a few guys that will only do that. but for most guys if a woman did not have that certain thing they have. a guy would have nothing to do with them. guys tend to really only want one woman. even though they cheat a lot it is mostly to do with the visual asspect of things.
    Women= love emotions commitment

    Men= sex
Men think women are crazy, women think men are...simple as that, but I think its important and not enough ppl realize that their partner is sensitive and needs support, not judgement and advice...men and women both.
    men love 2 have sex

women have sex 2 find love
    guys always mess up duh
Men can only think about being physical/sex when it comes to relationships whereas women are more emotional and they take relationship very seriously and would do whatever it takes to work on the relationship.
As far as I know, women are more emotional quicker while men tend to hold back, trying not to feel as much.
i think that the women take it a lot more seriously, (that doesnt mean men cant be serious, too) and they just make it a point to make their relationship higher on their priority list.

i think the men just think of it as something extra (again, not lumping all men into one group, its just the way i see it) and not to really be serious about.
I think woman are sensitive about different things to men. Also we show our emotions more and therefore make the situation appear more important than maybe it should be. On average most men need to be more open.. but as they find some things more important than we do.. would we listen. I think men think about sex more than woman. And they think about it on a different level to us. We like love more and they like just the sex more. We tend to be involved in children and cleaning house more and find this important in a hygienic and tidy way. Most men dont really care much for that kind of thing, even if they live on their own. So different levels of importance for different things. I sometimes feel that we can take a leaf out of a mans book and not take life so serious.. And men could do with facing their emotions and not run away or ignore them as some do.
women think about what to put into the relationship and guys think about what they are going to get out of the relationship.
the differences aren't gender related, but depend on the individual in question... :D

Relationships: Who is more demanding in a relatioship, the male or female?

Generally speaking, males come across as being more demanding, but that is because, in my opinion, most males are more open and vocal about what they want.

Females can be just as demanding, but they normally choose quieter (sometimes devious lol) methods.Relationships: Who is more demanding in a relatioship, the male or female?
Depends on the particular male or female. You can't lump people together because of their gender. Relationships: Who is more demanding in a relatioship, the male or female?
blatantly the female, but they deserve to be :-) guys should do everything they can for their woman
It depends on their personalities but most likely the male.
In MY relationship, it is HIM who is more demanding. I can barely tolerate him..
It's normally the male. But I'm sure there have been relationships where the woman was the most demanding.
The female is definitely more demanding. That is why I prefer call girls.

Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?

...there are over twice as many white male/ asian girls marriages than black male/ white women marriages?

And why does the media downplay this fact. Every ';diverse'; movie pretty much includes a black man with a white or white looking latina woman. Should Asian women/ white men relationships be acknowledged? Especially since they are the most common? Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?
    Why does it matter?

People are people, black, white, red, yellow, brown..it's all the same. Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?
What's the difference who, what, where? People are with each other, because that's who they want to be with.

Everyone should be acknowledged. It shouldn't matter about color or have anything to do with color.

You seem so intense with this subject when you really don't have to be. Just be nice to every one and stop counting heads.
White male/asian female is not very unusual thats why no one finds them interesting in the media. Also because both are essentially light-skinned. Its the rare mixed-marriages that get the attention I'm afraid.
Because in our society it is not accepted if two people regardless to color can establish the beautiful thing we know as love.

  • I am so sick of short term relationships?

The longest relationship i have even been was 9 months and that was back in my freshman year i am now a senior and my relationships keep getting shorter they all have cheated on me with the exception to one and i just want to find a long term meaningful relationship and i know that it probably wont last but i want to be happy and happiness does not come while lonelyI am so sick of short term relationships?
    Jester,

You seem like a very good guy. Not many guys like you look for a long term relationship and a real commitment, most guys want to be able to keep ';browsing the market'; which it sucks really.

I am very sorry you have been cheated on by girls. I know it sucks. I have been cheated on by my boyfriend of a long term relationship too but I managed to keep it because it is just too hard for me to let go of someone when I get attached to them, and I am very loyal.

If you are that much of a good guy, then trust me, your true love will come in no time, you just have to dig deeper, and you will see a very nice gorgeous girl just like you and hopefully you will be happier than ever.

There is this guy who everytime time we meet, we flirt. We got talking about relationships and he said ?

he wasn't in for one but then asks me to call him to catch up? Then he said he doesn't call women. He hasn't rang. It's been 5 months...Is this guy a player? or is he scared of me? Do I call or let go.There is this guy who everytime time we meet, we flirt. We got talking about relationships and he said ?
    he doesn't call women? PLEASE.

this guy isn't worth your time. do not call him. There is this guy who everytime time we meet, we flirt. We got talking about relationships and he said ?
Yes hon he's a player or a wannabe..or gay if he's not interested in women..

f*ck him off and get yourself a Real man who will risk anything for you and wanna be with you only..

What do you think about live-in relationships?

Do you mean before marriage? I think it's a good idea personally.

    EDIT:

Why get married? Well, health benefits, social security, if children are involved... etc etc. A lot of it is financial actually. What do you think about live-in relationships?
I lived with my husband for 3.5 years before we got married. We were however engaged when we moved in together...so I'm all for it.

What's worse living with someone only to find out you can't live with each other and break up? Or get married then find out you really can't stand the person and get divorced? They are both sins...but the first option is cheaper. What do you think about live-in relationships?
I live with my other half and we love it. I wouldn't have it any other way. However, we are in a serious relationship and intend on getting married. We would be married right now if we could afford the wedding I want.

I don't think it is a good idea, unless you are in a long term serious relationship. We already feel like we are married, you see.
i am all for them. relationships can change for both better and worse, living together can give you a taste of what it is like to to be together on a full time basis
I Live with my boyfriend, we were going to get married, but found out we were pregnant, decided to wait till our ring bearer is a little older. Plans are set for next summer.
    I AM IN ONE NOW

AFTER HAVING GONE THRU A DIVORCE AND BEING FINANCIALLY RUINED DUE TO MY EX SPOUSE, IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN GIVING SOMEONE ELSE THE POWER TO RUIN U.
they should wait till they are married
    It's a wise move.
not for me. but if other people want to do that it's ok.

The media is trying to control our behavior and our perception of reality. Why are white women and black men relationships given so much attention when...?
umm. yeah. just because they think that an asian women and white men marriage is perfect. and it includes no problems whatsoever. they're wrong.
You make a fair point but at the same time the medias obsession with this is stupid. There should be no reason to bring it up.
    very interesting fact
What are you talking about? White male asian female relationships are so common and acknowledged they aren't even seen as racial anymore.

I can name 10 white male-asian female relationships:

1.James Bonds most of the time

    2.King of the Hill

    3.Malcolm in the Middle

    4.Harold and Kumar

    5.Commercials all over

    6.Maury and Connie Chung

    7.Sandra Oh

    8.Loads of porn movies

    9.Olivia Munn

    10.Chuck

Meanwhile I can only name one black male-white female couple:

    1.Aliens In America

Is it true about gymnist and relationships?

Is it true that it will stimulate their hormones and give them bigger boobs and bigger butt and legs and stuff, so they stay away from itIs it true about gymnist and relationships?
Ummm thats really stupid because you dont get bigger breast, or butt, legs yes because of muscle.

But it stops growth because of excessive training

    ok dude!

Is this true or false about relationships?

is it true that even though your in a relationship with someone and love him or her, do you want to have sex with other attractive men or women constantly? Is this true or false about relationships?
Doesn't happen to me, and I would imply that would only happen to a guy who isn't getting what he needs in the relationship, which is why his mind would wander so..Is this true or false about relationships?
Just because you are in love with some one does not mean that you wont find other people attractive. And finding people attractive means that you want to **** them. If you really love the person, it just makes it easier to not **** the other person. Me and my wife both find other people attractive. People dont just turn ugly because you are in love.
do you want to ';have'; sex or just ';think'; about sex with other people? you can be in love, and be walking in a mall and pass a really cute person and wonder what they would be like in bed, but you shouldn't be going ';god, i want to nail him, i wonder where he lives';. that would be bad.
its common for ppl to fantasize about doing the deed with others, but how they react to that fantasy is another story. for instance some ppl love to role play as a way of acting on that fantasy while some ppl cheat as a result of that fantasy.
Yeah it's true....but never act on it. YOU! MUST! SHOW! SELF! CONTROL!

You have a thinking mind for a reason, never go off of natural feelings alone! The human species would have died out if we didn't have sexual urges.
    false.

    I'm faithful mentally and physically
    false

love is loving that person not ';loving'; them but f***in some other person

    so yup false
    No, it is totally false!
its false.. if you are in a relationship, you are not suppose to have sex with other ppl....
    false
only if you are not getting it good at home. If you guys have a real good thing going then you won't think of anyone else
false, im broken up with my ex and i still only want her

  • Atheists: How can you explain symbiotic relationships?

There are many examples of plants and animals which have a ';symbiotic'; relationship (they need each other to survive). How can evolution explain this?Atheists: How can you explain symbiotic relationships?
    Symbiosis provides an adaptive advantage.

    Edit: for both organisms.

What is so hard about this?Atheists: How can you explain symbiotic relationships?
Better question: How does religion explain it?
    I always laugh at questions like this. ';Oh, this aspect of life is so incredibly complex that it MUST have been created.';

But I wonder -- what process created the creator? For surely the creator would have to be so infinitely more complex than these things that are created, yes?

So the basic argument doesn't hold water.
I am not an atheist but I figured I share my thoughts on this.

I do not believe in evolution nor do I believe in creationism.
Not being a biologist, I don't know. Look it up somewhere either in a book or on the internet. Not all atheists are scientists, or can answer scientific questions instantly without looking it up.
Do you really think that science has never considered these ';stumpers'; before?

Don't think you suddenly stumbled upon treasure trove of silver bullets and can single-handedly destroy the most robust theory in science. You can't.
The very fact you asked that question leads me to believe that you know the answer. Are you trolling?

If you really don't know, then read a book!
Do you actually have an interest in evolutionary biology?

Explain the role of the amygdala in mystical experiences.
All of evolutionary development is about symbiosis! Our bodies are essentially super-colonies of interdependent bacterial colonies. Without the bacteria in our intestines, we'd starve. Without specialized cells to transfer oxygen or electrical impulses, we could not breath or think. The fact that some symbiotic relationships involve distinct, complex organisms is only a matter of scale.

Each cell that developed a specialized function could survive at a primitive level. But when they combined, their function was enhance by a division of labor. Each cell no longer had to do everything. Even the components of a basic cell, mitochondria, DNA, the cell membrane, etc., had to develop independently, barely functioning until circumstances allowed them to combine into a basic organic system that could absorb nutrients, convert energy, discard waste and reproduce.

The next stage was for single cell organism to find ways to combine functions in a way that was more efficient than operating separately. In time, the symbiotic structures got more and more complex, as nutrient gathering cells got farther from the propulsion cells and a need for a distribution and communication system developed. Now the process is automated, as genes are turned on and off to facilitate the specialization that makes muscular, skeletal, vascular and nervous systems grow effectively into a coordinated whole. But each of these cells is a cell. The symbiosis is so complete that we think of ourselves as a single being, but we're really sophisticated super-colonies.

Some scientists now believe they've found the function of the appendix. Apparently it is a safe place for intestinal bacteria to survive during a cholera outbreak. Sounds symbiotic to me.
Yeah - who would of thought that an insect would evolve to fill the niche required for the cleaning of the ears out of an Elephant.

Seriously - you think God is responsible for that?? Its a niche that was filled by that particular insect or plant. Just because they could not survive without each other NOW doesnt mean they didnt survive separately at one time in the past.
Plants produce food and oxygen, hence oxygen breathing animals evolved to feed on the abundance of fruit and oxygen, thus producing more CO2 which the plants need to survive.
    One Word

    Coevolution

    its when life coevolves
Why don't you ask this in the science section? Because you post it here it is off topic and I believe you can be reported for it.
Well, me not being a biologist, I can only speculate...most I can say is that they need each other to survive...other than that, I cannot answer you. Now, if you want an answer, go to the Biology section of Y!A, and if you just want your own ';faith'; confirmed because some of us do not have answers (since we're only human, and we don't say, ';God did it!'; to everything we do not understand) then continue to post these sort of questions here. Hope this helps you in some way!
Pretty simple; the ones that didnt go with other animals died out....
If you look into early evolutionary models there are examples of algea and primitive bacteria benefiting eachover, some people would say this even lead to the creation of early cells.

It was so beneficial for some subcellular life to stay in proximity it eventually fused.

This is a pretty good link to some information about subcellular life.

    http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/subcellula鈥?/a>

Knowing how much goes on at such a tiny level makes the idea of larger symbiotes seem less impressive.

That is how I think it is possible. I think it is not only possible but may explain how cellular life started.
I don't honestly know, but I suspect it has something to do with the first law of nature. ';The will to survive';.
    From Wikipedia:

Creationists have long claimed that obligate symbioses are evidence against evolution, arguing that since neither organism can survive without the other, they must have come into existence at exactly the same time. This simplistic point of view ignores the extreme variety of symbiotic relationships as well the mutability of species over time. Obligate mutualisms could easily evolve from facultative relationships in which neither species is fully committed. These arguments persist despite many examples of facultative symbioses and multiple theoretical and computational models describing how such a relationship would evolve.
    Co-evolution.
Are you legitimately afraid to ask this on a science Q%26amp;A board? You obviously don't actually want answers... but then again, few religious people really do...
Social evolution is still evolution. I would say that most of the species alive today have used social mechanisms to help them (as a whole) survive. Symbiosis is not a stretch from here.
Would you really care if I told you? I could explain it but will it change your mind?
When a theist asks atheists about some fine detail of science in the Religion section, we now take it as read that you have no interest in an answer at all. Go and ask this in the biology section if you actually ARE interested. You'll find plenty of atheists there too.
I assume they evolved to have said symbiotic relationships.

As so many others have pointed out, asking this in the religion section makes you appear to have less than sincere motives. Surely you realize that not all atheists are scientists studying the theory of evolution as well as the origins of the universe. I am a writer, and have no real reason to know the biological mechanism that provided certain animals with a symbiotic relationship.
I'm sure the Bible has a perfect explanation on that!

    (I'm being sarcastic of course!)
Easily. (point at science texts, and Yahoo's science section)
Someone has been reading too many creationist websites.

It's good to see a creationist acting out their stereotypes.
your a parasite, you attach yourself to yahoo answers and ask stupid questions so you can get athiests and non-believers riled up

    thats symbiosis
Ha Ha! Only evolution can explain that!

How much more prevalent would gay relationships be?

    if homosexuality wasn't ostracized?

Now that I've had lunch and my brain is working better, let me try again: What I'm after is, if gay relationships weren't of any concern to anyone else, and people weren't so hung up on labels and fitting into strict categories, how many more otherwise straight people would be more likely to engage in casual gay dalliances (not would there be more gays), do you suppose? Some? Many? Most? If everyone who is gay could freely admit to it (to themselves as well as everyone else), what percentage of the population do you suppose would really turn out be gay? More than the estimated 10%?How much more prevalent would gay relationships be?
There would be an amazing amount of extra romantic love and a more healthful environment for families. Example, a closeted homosexual man or woman may find fighting for their freedom to be too difficult and may choose to conform by living in a committed heterosexual relationship. They may then induldge in affairs and put themselves at risk for STD's and ruined reputation and may even decide to abandon a family with children. Were there more social acceptance, the building of families that risk destruction by a member coming out of the closet would be greatly reduced. How much more prevalent would gay relationships be?
I believe alot more straight people would be open to the idea, and would be less hesitant to experiment. How do you know you're straight, until you've had a taste of the gay lifestyle? You DON'T know, unless you try. By eliminating the same-sex option, people are limiting their level of happiness. Imagine if no one cared anymore, and being gay was at the same level as being hetero? The divorce rates would probably lower, and we'd probably have less un-planned pregnancies.
I think that there would be SIGNIFICANTLY more ';out'; homosexuals. And as a result more gay relationships.
I don't think there would be anymore than there are already. Seriously.

Straights can't ';turn'; gay, they're either gay or not. They might be Bi-curious, but again, no one just ';turns'; gay because it seems like the thing to do.

Straights, gays and lesbians would still have just as much trouble finding ';true love'; as they do now.
I can address part of your question I think, the part about whether otherwise straight people would engage in casual homosexual dalliances more if no stigma attached to it.

I think the answer to that question is yes.....definitely. I have had a few girl/girl encounters even though I am definitely a full time heterosexual. After each time I have had an ';Oh My God'; reaction afterward. Not because I didnt enjoy it but because I was raised in a home where that was considered immoral and I shuddered to think what my parents would say if they found out. Therefore I think that if there wasnt that stigma attached to it many more people would try it.

As to what percentage of the population would be gay if everyone who is gay would just admit it......your guess is as good as mine.

For girls. a guy said the relationships are part the person and part the sex, what do you think?

i personally disagree. you should wait till marriage cause then you know the guy loves you.For girls. a guy said the relationships are part the person and part the sex, what do you think?
i agree with you completely... you should wait for marriage until sex.. some people just don't understand it. i agree completely with you.

Good questionFor girls. a guy said the relationships are part the person and part the sex, what do you think?
I know you have put this questions out to girls but I feel a need to answer it.

Whoever said that to you is 100% correct. For a relationship to work both the emotional and physical parts of the relationship have to be good. When only 1 side is good it becomes a huge issue in the relationship.

Sex and the physical relationship is just as important and the emotional ';I love you so much'; part of the relationship.
    completely agree.

can not have a success full relationship with out some kind of sex (oral/dry/ just sex etc.).

I like the excitement of new relationships and first kisses, I get bored long term..!?

I've been with my boyfriend for a little over 4 months now and when we first started going out it was really really exciting. The first kiss was good and everything. I'm visiting home in a few months, and I just want to have a little fun. I just miss that initial excitement and I just feel a bit bored of my relationship. Is that normal??I like the excitement of new relationships and first kisses, I get bored long term..!?
Wow, 4 months really isn't a long relationship - I don't think this guy is right for you. When you do find the right guy, you won't mind missing all the excitement becuase you will enjoy the comfort level. Good LuckI like the excitement of new relationships and first kisses, I get bored long term..!?
Long term is years not months. 4 months shouldn't be changing the relationship. its still new. you must be young. long term does change the relationship. i ve been with my boyfriend a little over two years and the kisses aren't the same, his touch isn't even the same. i mean it gets old after a while, well really i think you just become comfortable with each other or it becomes routine after a while and isn't as exciting as it used to be. if its old after 4 months then its time to move on. there's no use in holding on to something that's not going anywhere in the long run. let go while its still early. you can even work on the relationship by trying new things to make it more exciting.
Ugh, if you're deliberately planning on fooling around behind his back then just dump him now. He deserves better then that and if you aren't feeling the chemistry then you should not be in the relationship.

What you are saying is that after 4 months you really don't care about the guy, so its time to end it.
Depends on your age. I would just let the guy go and let him have his fun too if you are going to. Sounds to me like you just need to date and let guys know you are only looking to date, nothing serious. Then I think it would be more fun to you. That way its easier to let go.
    Yes. Especially if you're younger.

Or perhaps your boyfriend is just boring. Mine is!

What's so bad about interracial relationships?

It doesn't matter if one person is white and the other is black or purple or green. if you love each other that's all that matters. how come it gets some ppl bent outta shape? What's so bad about interracial relationships?
Many people have not come to understand to look past the color of one's skin and realize that we are all the same. There are so many sterotypes out there, and people believe them. It is sad to say that some are just ignorant and will miss out on a great Love of thier life becasue they are blinded by color. What's so bad about interracial relationships?
They are ignorant and don't have God in the center of their life. For God has said in Romans 8:1 Judge not least

thee be judged. God is the Eternal Judge, and he has said anyone who judges will be judged for its Gods' job!!!

Not people they are imperfect creatures created by God !!! God also said ''Let no man put asunder '' for

only God can judge us.Always remember that and be proud about your love.
I use to get upset about it when my daughter first started dating a black guy.I got to know him and he seems like a pretty good guy. They just had a baby November 14. He's a beautiful baby.I get upset now when people talk about what a hard time the baby will have growing up because he is mixed. It's so common these days that I don't think it will be a problem for him at all.Maybe by the older generation but by the time he's a teenager my generation will be the old folks and I think we are more adjusted to the idea..
I would like to start by saying that i am for interracial relationships. To me it states that we are all starting to come together. I think people only hate it when their race is the one involved. in fact I remember my grandmother once said that the white girls across the street are tramps because they only go out with black guys. Since my grandmother is white she didn't like seeing a white person going with a black person. But I wonder if she would say anything about those girls if they were hispanic or asian. To me i am for it because i am currently with a black girl, and no my grandmother doesn't know because i'm afraid it would give her a heart attack and i would never forgive myself. I agree with you but you sort of confused me because i never saw a person with the skin color purple or green. I got to say, would you ever give a white guy a chance, or do you just date outside your race? Me I judge people on who they are as a person, not on what they look like.

Quote: ';I dont see Race, I see an american'; Steven Colbert, the Colbert Report.
    nothing
People have become enslaved of their own self created differences. Factually all human beings are the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. So they all are equal irrespective of their colour, cast and creed. Two hearts can be bounded by love and affection even if they are poles apart. Shun rascism and encourage love and equality.
Nothing wrong with it at all. In my own personal opinion, a good woman is a good woman, regardless of what color she is.
I do not think it matters as long as the person treats right.
some people are ignorant and narrow minded
Ignorance is the best answer there. Imagine a world with nothing but interracial relationships.... eventually all becoming the same race...what would we fight about then? It's also very healthy to date interracially from a biological standpoint. Hybrid Vigor and the survival of the species may count on it. Be with the one you love and if people have a problem with it... then THEY have a problem with it. aiiiiight?
I agree ,Love has no color
    Because people are racists.

Or people are jealous over the relationship.

    It really depends.
Many of the problems with race stem from the ignorance that is passed down from generation to generation. Stop the ignorance, stop the hate. Hey, do what ya want, don't worry about everyone else....though I know it's tough sometimes as I'm married to an Arab.

I also think it's hysterical when these white supremacists say they're 100% white.......
Nothing is wrong with it, My step mom trys to talk junk and I tell well your same race marrige sure worked out ( As my dad divorces her sorry A...
There is nothing ';bad';, but it does take extra effort on both sides to understand, follow and assimilate their racial values.

E.g. if a christian marries a muslim, where should their children worship? In a mosque, or a church, or both. If they grow up to be very devout, and start asking questions like: Who will save my soul---Jesus or Mohammed? How do you answer in a way that does not come off as goody-goody and without substance?

What if a black marries a white---the children will grow up looking different from pure racial lines. While this is no reason to shun inter-racial marriages, people getting into it must be comfortable with the long term consequences.

Luckily, most of us welcome inter-racial marriages, so it is growing.
That is what my grandchildren have told me about their spouses-I agree with them.
I believe It shouldnt get people bent out of shape, but It does.

I was In a Biracial relationship and we got looks from both sides,It also depends on where you live too.
i dont see anything wrong with it. i personally wouldnt but if you fall in love with someone of a different race then you race shouldnt be an issue for everyone else.
I agree as long as you are opposite genders..
There is nothing wrong with interracial relationships. Racists are worried that their race will no longer be ';pure.'; That's a load of bull$#%^. Thousands upon thousands of years ago, when Man was evolving, there was no colour difference. Then, according to which part of the world we lived in, our differing colours mutated and evolved with us. To blend these colours is just another step in the evolutionary process--to me, it shows we have gone to a higher level, and aren't afraid to love someone from another race. More power to them, I say.
All people that are offended by interracial relationships aren't racist. Some people simply have feelings built up from their lives and experiences and when they see interracial couples they can't hold them in. There are certain racial barriers that are hard to overcome and it just takes time. Sometimes people don't like it when a dark skinned black person marries a light skined black person, but once they finally take the time to get to know the person, things change. I think everything simply takes time to get used to. things aren't as bad as they used to be, so obviously(with the exception of a few stupid people) people will learn that color doesn't matter and only love does.
Because ignorance and long-time beliefs can be very difficult to overcome.

Although if one of my children were with a purple or green person, I would probably be concerned.
I TOTALLY agree with you! The only thing that matters is that you love each otherand have a good relationship. People just want something to whine and complain about.
I had a harsh upbringing due to being a child of biracial parents. I never fit in with any group of people. My mom is Mexican, dad is German. I am too white to be considered Mexican and vice versa. That is one of the negatives about biracial relationships.
Because the world is full of stupid people who think skin color equals inferiority.

personally, I PREFER black or hispanic chicks (btw- I'm french and german- very white) - I'm a sucker for diversity.

  • Girl wants to know about past relationships?

she keeps asking me and i really don't want to talk about em what do i do?Girl wants to know about past relationships?
It would be rude and ungentlemanly to tell. Ask her how she'd feel about you telling all her intimate details to your next girlfriend?

My personal policy is to flat out refuse to talk about exes in any way.Girl wants to know about past relationships?
Ask her why she wants to know. If she's just curious, maybe meet her halfway and tell her about them, but then let her know that's the only time you ever want to speak of them.
there's this new thing, called ';no thanks';...
Tell her that you don't feel comfortable talking about them, at least not until you have a stronger relationship with her.

She's got to trust you in order to make things work. If she doesn't, it's her fault.
Come out an tell her you don't want to talk about them. It's really that simple. If she keeps on persisting that you tell her then I would move on and find another girl. I know this sounds harsh, but if you keep telling her you don't want to talk about it and she keeps asking you is shows she doesn't care about what you want or your feelings for that matter. I hope she stops!

    Good Luck,

Microsoft Access 2007 (Access Project) Table Relationships Unavailable?

In Access 2007, I have created an Access Project. I have it linked to a SQL database on my local. I have created a bunch of tables. Now I want to build relationships between these tables, but the ';Relationships'; button under the ';Database Tools'; tab is unavailable, along with most of the other options under that tab. Is there a way to make them available? Please explain clearly step-by-step. Thanks!Microsoft Access 2007 (Access Project) Table Relationships Unavailable?
Most of those options are disabled for .adp projects. If you want to create relationships, open the tables in design mode, then open the Propery Sheet. From there, you can specify relationships with update and delete behaviors.

Hope that helps. Good luckMicrosoft Access 2007 (Access Project) Table Relationships Unavailable?
Are you using the database you're working in, did you link to an external database (external to Access) or did you import an external database?

What is the point of committed relationships?

If you have plenty of friends can look after yourself, have sex when you want and don't want children? What is the point of committed relationships?
It's for when all your friends settle down and you're stuck on your own. You don't want to be the one they all feel sorry for, who's always suggesting girls nights out and clubbing long after your peer group has shifted their focus onto family life, whose friends get younger and younger, who smiles just a little too brightly when she insists that going on holiday with a singles club is ';really, really fun';, who nobody will leave alone with their husbands for too long at parties just in case...

If you wait until then to start looking, all the best guys will have been taken and you'll be stuck with a second-time-around guy with all the baggage that goes with it - kids, ';psycho'; ex, debts/maintenance payments etc.

That's my take on it, anyway. It's just an insurance policy, and once you decide you need it it's best to get it over and done with and snag the best guy you can while you're still in the position of having to beat them off with a stick. I don't think being married makes you happier in itself, it just beats the alternative of dying alone and your body not being found until the next hot spell.

If you're male, turn all the he/she references on their head and think yourself lucky that men remain attractive to the opposite sex for longer than girls do.What is the point of committed relationships?
I love my girlfriend and of late i have noticed that if i sleep with anyone else besides her i feel guilty. i think there comes a time when you need to connect
A committed relationship, (Marriage) has been found to be the best way to live and raise families; based on thousands of years of human experience. It's an individual's best shot at a longer, healthier, happier, and financially successful life. Certainly marriage isn't perfect, because people aren't perfect, but over the last few thousand years, marriage has been found to be the best method of living, out of the thousands of different ways societies have tried over the ages.
If someone has to ask the point of a commited relationship, then they obviously don't have the need or desire for one.

Not everyone is cut out for the same thing, and if one doesn't want to be in a long term, monogamous relationship, one shouldn't feel obliged to by society.
    true
You can have children without committed relationship!

I must say that I prefer committed relationship because:

-sex is better with someone you know

-you get true emotions from a man you love

    -you can cuddle with him

-emotional support when you need it(it is different when you have friends for that-girfriends may compete with you).

But it is true that many girls don't get that from man. I do from mine, so I prefer commitment.

When you will become older, you will see that many of your friends will get married. I heard that at the age of 40, children are those who give you the purpose to your life.
I totally agree with you. Committed relationships are the biggest social conventional farce going, mortgage, kids, constantly nagged etc. It's a Capitalistic mkted group we r all fooled to think we need / want. Love can be everywhere if look. Want kids? get a donar %26amp; give 'em love they wont be a criminal. Sex? pick the nxt one, it's about release of frustration. Love from only one? yeah right keep fooling yourself this isn't the 1950's. I think with life get what you want when you want via your subconsicous %26amp; 1 day committed relationships may appear / may not don't feel a need via social convention. I think of the tigers that roam as solitary animals, they r one of the most beautiful animals nature created not fooled by a need of a family.
yeah but people like you or who ever this is your talking about not being able to commit normally are called sluts or tramps they cant commit because there to busy being whores and sleeping around.
the point is that some people want commitment and some dont. end of.
WELL NO POINT IN YOUR CASE,UNLESS YOU WANT TO FIND LOVE AND HAPPINESS...:)
Well somebody like that wouldn't want/need/have a committed relationship. It works for some people because they want children, they want a long term partner for company and intimacy, so they can buy a house together, to share their lives with someone. As you get older, sex may not be so available to people and most people want children to carry on their name etc. There are loads of reasons, but if you enjoy being young free and single and having the freedom to do whatever you want then you should stay that way.
the point of committed relationship is that you have the one person you're completely crazy about and who is completely crazy about you, you create a family and love each other
For most people, at one point, they will see their friends start to commit to other people over time, giving them less and less time. By the time that they look around and find that all their friends are in a long term relationship it will dawn on them that they won't have friends who will be there for them since they have other commitments. So committed relationships allows you to have somewhat of a monopoly on someone else, so that you will almost always have someone there for you to spend time with.
If that works for you, congratulations and good wishes. Most people want a little more.
You can have sex when you want and not have children in a comitted relationship.
That's lovely, and I loved my life for a while like that, but, what happens when all your friends start settling down, having children and committing themselves to another person?

It's such an enjoyable time of life, just relish it while you can. But never say never...
Committed relationships these days look like riding a carriage on high ways!open relationship is the option today!
There are many reasons, but someone with your point of view I would suggest looking at it at this angle. When you are growing old it is an extremely lonely feeling waking up with no one by your side. No fellowship, no sharing coffee, no laughs together. No one to be concerned about your well being, and no reminiscing

in your memories with someone. You might as well face it there are not many old folks dating and partying.
The point of commitment is that it shows what sort of a person you are.

If ALL you want ouit of a relationship is sex you are denying the deeper aspects of your humanity.

Plus the fact that sex is better within a committed relationship.
    Better than being promiscuous
The point? It's for people looking for something a little deeper than what you just stated.
Because you might want more for yourself than random, promiscuous attachments. It's a pretty empty kind of existence - it might work for some at some stages of their life...but eventually you want to love someone who isn't loving other people.
Because one day you will wake up %26amp; realise that something is missing from your life.

And that is true love, which can only be found in a committed relationship.

When you have experienced it, you will understand what I mean.
    None that I know of

What do you think of interracial relationships?

Personally, I'm the product of an interracial marriage - my mother's Indian (from India) and my dad's English (white). I think my sister and I have turned out quite nicely - the fusion of Eastern and Western looks are pretty exotic. My cousin (who is fully Indian) is currently dating an Irish guy, and they're considering getting married.

So, I'm curious - what are your thoughts of interracial relationships? Have you been in one before? What were the responses to it?What do you think of interracial relationships?
I see nothing wrong with interracial relationships. I've dated interracially once, and we got some bad reactions. That was three years ago. What do you think of interracial relationships?
Yes I think it sounds exotic. Its really wonderful two persons exploring each others culture and tradition. This will certainly lessen the hard feelings and antagonism that exists in peoples mind about other races. The dilution in bad vibes will certainly encourage greater amity and tolerance in the community life. This in turn will also help in inter faith acceptance and in a broader perspective shall diminish the ill feeling between different faiths. I think the world is taking great strides in that direction and we will really see a time when the entire globe becomes one village with no difference in cast, creed and religion.

The theists had their way for thousands of years by segregating communities on religious lines and look what have they given to the mankind : hatred, genocide, war and suffering . Its high time the liberals should wrest control in to their hands and work for a harmonious world .
They're inevitable and don't warrant any discussion. When everything was segregated and the average person didn't know anyone outside of their race, it was a big deal. Now, with everyone interacting and getting to know one another as individuals rather than stereotypical characatures, it's bound to happen. I haven't ever been in one myself but it's not because I'm adverse. It just hasn't happened.
I don't think anything of them and don't give them any more notice than I would a intraracial relationship. What other people do is none of my business. I have been in interratial relationships and they weren't any different than the intraracial relationships I've been in. It's not a big deal or an issue and I don't really understand why people are so fascinated with them or even feel the need to comment at this juncture.
I don't think it's really an issue, and it's questions like these that constantly make it an issue that alarm me. Aren't we all human being in the end? If anything, your parents union is a intercultural and I really view ';interracial'; relations as a non issue. Had your mom married a mongoose, then I'd worry.
I think there great, they help shed light on the fact that we are all human and compatible with each other regardless of what your race is. Not to mention the social barriers and divides it helps to break down in America. There becoming more and more common especially in cities, and it really reflects what makes America great, a blend of different cultures and people living together harmoniously despite their differences.
you are no longer indian.... as in you will forget or not even learn what it means to be indian.... you will be absorbed into the westren culture.... you will only speak one language.... a culture with very few values and limited understanding of morality, shame and pride....

I could never be in an interracial relationship, because I would have to much to lose not to forget my future generations....
Nothing really but I don't understand the glorification interracial relationship when its with someone who is white/European descendant.
black boys wth nonblack girls is the future! I'm armenian and my man is the black as hell and real real swell!
I fear that it creates a loss of diversity (that thing liberals want) and make the offspring of 2 different races unstable. Many scientist have pointed this out.
Why should I even think about the topic? It doesn't affect me in any way. If people are happy together, then more power to them. I'll stay out of their life if they will stay out of mine.
    theyre inevitable.

    http://www.newswithviews.com/Ryter/jon27鈥?/a>
I'm in an interracial relationship now.
    its awesome:]

im hispanic and i think armenians and indians are sexy!

ive been with 2 black guys and it was cool lol
    - I'm neutral; I'm not against it but I do not advocate it; I have never been in one
It's none of my business one way or the other. If you are happy, then I wish you all the best.
We're all human, so what's the other race? I don't get it...
As long as whites aren't involved I could care less.

Why do people still not accept relationships where the woman is 10 or more years older than the man?

    Because it's gross you sicko.

Why would anybody wanna bang an older woman?

Besides with that much of an age difference she's probably seen more ***** than a prison urologist. Go for girls your own age or a little younger. Fresh meat is better...Why do people still not accept relationships where the woman is 10 or more years older than the man?
i accept the decisions of others, because they have no profound effect upon me; however, both my sisters (over 40 years old) have live-in boyfriends who are 15+ years younger.

From close observation i can say that i wouldn't be able to become serious with someone that much younger than me, simply because on an intellectual plane, they don't compare -- but i'm sure the stamina is good, if you know what i mean. Why do people still not accept relationships where the woman is 10 or more years older than the man?
haha so true. I dated a man 12yrs younger than me at one time. I was 35 and he was 23. Our relationship went through a lot of raised eyebrows %26amp; dislike from both of our parents. Other people gave their opinions about the maturity level %26amp; why we shouldnt be together. Well that relationship lasted 6yrs. When we broke up, it was because he wanted children %26amp; I was fixed so I couldnt. We are the best of friends to this day %26amp; he wants to get back together. Im 47 and hes 35 and he has a daughter (out of wedlock). If you truly love someone, it doesnt matter about the age (so long as they are both legal ages). You dont have to live, sleep, or marry the other people, just the person you are dating. Everyone has an opinion like a butt. If they dont like your choice, DONT INVITE THEM TO THE WEDDING. haha,, Good luck
they just don't - i asked my sister to show it to be in the bible

that says a woman can't be older than the guy-she couldn't

    she's jealous....

don't tell anyone how old you are- if you don't look it- don't tell.

and don't let it bother you and destroy your relationship -if

he had a problem he would leave-he wants you,
I don't know. I am on the opposite end of things (21 year old woman dating a 34 year old man), and I find it is generally accepted or just not really addressed. I have a friend at work who is much older than her boyfriend, and I'm A-OK with it!
What makes you think that people do not accept these relationships ? The truth is- most people do not care. They are only interested in themselves. Sure, they may make a side comment, but fundamentally they do not care ,nor do they give it another thought.
to each his own...I personally dont get it, couldnt do it. My guy is three years younger than me but the age difference does become apparent once in a while. I dont think I could handle a bigger gap but then thats just me. If a woman can deal with that big a difference then..kudos to her.
And why would you care what people accept or don't accept? If you're in a relationship such as the one you describe, and both you and your partner are happy, that's all you need.
You know that the unknown is always a scary place. People always fear what they don't know. If two people are grown and happy, that is all that matters. Good Luck:)
I have no idea what you are talking about. There's a reality show called ';COUGAR'; because it's accepted now. Look at Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.....they've really opened it up for it to be okay.
simply because people are ignorant! People tend to be judgmental, and don't see the wood for the trees! But why should you be concerned about what other people think? Maybe you are unsure yourself????
Who says they don't? And on the other hand it's no one elses business but your own.
I have no idea why people are that way but who cares what others people think!

If a boy grows up with an absent or distant mother, how will his relationships with women be affected?

i think he may be a bit aggressive and masculineIf a boy grows up with an absent or distant mother, how will his relationships with women be affected?
i'm living with a man who only had his father and it's HELL. don't get me wrong he loves me but there was always a barrior in our relationship because i'm a woman. he tends to think that all women are alike. i tell him all the time he's no different from a racist person who generalizes some one from there own experiences. it's not fair to the woman who really loves you to suffer from YOUR past. we're all living this life together.and soon i won't be able to show him any more.If a boy grows up with an absent or distant mother, how will his relationships with women be affected?
simple he wont be balanced towards women he will see them as objects or things to be used not as people with an inner life or feeling that hurt
I guess they would be distant and probably awkward.
He'll only see his father as being the head role model to him I guess
